An important aspect of a "Wall" application that people might not think about is how to handle individual Wall Message and Comment permalinks. The content produced by Wall Messages and Comments has a lot of value, and without permalinks the value of that content is drastically reduced. In Sueetie, Wall Messages and Comments are also integrated into the Data Core for features like Site Activity lists and searching, so we need to easily reference each and every wall message and comment. This is how we're addressing permalinks on the Sueetie Wall.
Location of Permalinks
Here are the locations of Permalinks to Wall Messages and Comments. Each Message has its own "Permalink" link as shown here.
The Permalink link for comments is its "Time Ago Posted" info.
Permalink Actions
The Permalink Action for Wall Messages and Comments is that when a Message is permalinked, it is displayed separately on a web page along with all of its comments. The page has full functionality supporting the addition of comments. A link under the Page Title returns a user to All Wall Messages.
The permalinked Wall Message Page is included in Sueetie Analytics, with analytics reporting for each message and comment. Here's a screenshot of the Wall Message Permalink display page.
Wall Comments are displayed individually, with a link to both the Comment's complete Wall Message Thread and to All Messages.
