I've been following Bill Bosacker for a long time now. He used to sign his CS Forums posts "William Bosacker" but has recently gone with "Bill," so I'll take the liberty of using Bill as well.
Bill often goes deep, deep, deep under CS cover, exposing obscure bugs and SQL issues that not many others will uncover. Bill is like a hound dog when it comes to working through Community Server issues that bother him. The man doesn't stop until he's got the issue hanging out of his mouth like some limp ringneck pheasant. He often eclipses me in the depth he'll go into on dissecting some CS behavior, but I always try to get on Bill's level because I've been looking at Bill's avatar for a long time, and I might be mistaken, but his avatar makes me think he's the kind of guy who goes to Parris Island, South Carolina every August to go through Marine Boot Camp just for kicks. So, like, if I don't fully engage in the analysis at Bill's depth he'd smack me alongside the head until I see the light...or tweetie birds, whichever comes first.
Seriously, Bill has an amazing talent for working through issues with people on CS Forums over the span of days and even weeks, providing support far beyond any paid consultant would do. I've seen him do this several times until a solution was found, and its quite amazing to observe, really.
Besides providing high-dollar support for free, Bill used to post these wonderful detailed posts on CS Forums, exploring various aspects of Community Server, as I mentioned before. Very blog-like posts. So one day I say to him, "Bill, why the heck don't you start a blog!" And he did, which is where we arrive at the painful truth. Bill Bosacker is out of control.
"Site Policies: Effective Immediately" is Bill's gift to the CS Community, capturing the essence of community participation and subtly ripping on the new Telligent restricted licensing policies with CS2007 that are pretty much universally hated. To get Bill's complete policy guidelines, be sure to click the "full policy" link at the conclusion of the post.
Yeah, you think back on your life and reflect on days that you'd like to take back. It's clear that the day I told Bill that he should start a blog is one of them.
Update: In case I failed to properly convey the point, Bill's new "Site Policies" is an April Fool's post. The "full policy" link I mentioned confirms the joke.
