This blog is now powered by BlogEngine.Net, but to be honest I know very little about it. I may have migrated my Community Server blog of 2000-some posts to BE.Net (rather successfully, I think :-), I created an original DBVT2008 BE.Net Theme, configured BlogEngine.Net to share ASP.NET membership with my photo gallery app, and I wrote a couple of BlogEngine extensions to maintain compatibility with Community Server functions, but all-in-all I really know very little about BlogEngine.Net.
I hope to eventually become a contributing member to the BlogEngine.Net Community, but it's still way early. I'm just a noob. I'll tell you this though, I love how light-weight and fast my blog is. I like how I can zip up my web site and it's less than 2 megs. I like having only 9 BE tables in my SQL Database. And I like the fact that BlogEngine.Net is a Website project. Once I got the Website Project model (albeit rather late in the game) I'm seeing how its more pleasant and productive to work in.
Besides the technical merits of BlogEngine.Net, I like being tuned-in to the BE.Net Community with users and developers who are genuinely enthusiastic about BlogEngine.Net. I mentioned this on my Services Page as one of the reasons I am hoping to transition into more Open Source development. I've been missing that.
Thus ends the first post of my new BlogEngine.Net category. Plan to see many more.
