CS Nuglet: Adding Reasons for Forum Post Deletion

If you're a Forums Administrator you might want to provide additional reasons to users why their forum posts are being deleted.  The default reasons are 1) the post is in non-English on an English forum, 2) the post was off-topic, or 3) it was incomprehensible in some way.   Wouldn't it be a good idea to add something like a "Because you're a Doofus" option?

You bet!  The PostDeletion template options are located in \Languages\lang\Templates.xml.  Simply add a new <template /> area to get the job done.

Great tip Dave!

I actually have been wondering about this a couple of times before. Besides what you're describing here, it would be good to have an option to not send a mail to the author of the post.

I know we can do that by creating a trashcan forum with just admin rights, and move the message there. But...

Anyways, thanks for a very useful nuglet! Smile

Thanks, J-O!  I actually stole this tip from George Capnias.  I simply blogged about it and added some entertainment value.  Yes, we definitely need a "do not notify" option!
