CSForums : Kicking the tires

My CSForums app is up and I am kicking the tires, getting a feel for how I can use it.  Already I am impressed by how robust it is in the options it provides on post attributes (sticky, for how long, non-sticky, allow replies, etc.) and also its management of user functions based on role (to view groups, view individual posts, enter posts, replies, add attachments, etc.)  I've turned off anonymous posting and registered users can post replies only for now (not new posts.)

Styling CSForums was more extensive than styling either CSBlogs or CSGalleries, simply because there are a larger number of pages and skins comprising forums.  I also realized it was time to brand login, logout, and other CS support pages on my site, so that added slightly to the task.  Nothing unusual about styling CSForums if you've updated CSGalleries.

As I said in my previous post, I'll be experimenting with CSForums as an alternative to my blog, a place to post more personal and less value-content focused material.  I started with an "Opinion" forums group and a single forum titled "Television," to which I'll probably add Movies, Restaurants, and similar forums.  A "Vermont" area might be fun, too.  While I'm approaching CSForums initially as a more avocational vehicle than a professional one, it certainly lends itself to real content distribution and may become a place to list CS Mods and other distribution packages.
