Finally after having to miss the first two of Thom Robbins' Code Camps I am finally going to make it to the Big Show, Part III at the Microsoft New England District Office in Waltham, MA on March 12th and 13th. Not only that (in case you didn't catch it on my bud Julie's post), I'll be doing a presentation titled "Customizing .Text." Here's the description:
In this session we will be digging into Scott Watermasysk’s .Text using the 0.95 and 0.96 framework to demonstrate how to extend .text to add podcasting support, searching, comment tracking, spam blocking features, sub-categories, and more. And while we’re doing that we will observe advanced ASP.NET practices in action like Httphandlers, business objects, data transformations, providers and base classes.
If you'll be heading to Code Camp III in Waltham and want specific .text features covered in my talk, post them here!
I've said it before (several times): I enjoy the heck out of working with the .text framework, mainly because ScottW is one of the premiere coders out there and I learn something about smart .NET coding every time I add some custom feature the framework. So giving this talk is something excited about having the opportunity to do. And what is really exciting for me about CCIII is that ScottW will most likely be in attendance (maybe doing a presentation on CS 1.0??) and because its a smaller conference I'll get to shake The Man's hand and tell him "thank you for .text" in realtime.
I made the "I'll be there" pic at left on a whim. Feel free to use it! I chose a Vermonty dbvt.com green as the base color. Hope you don't mind. |
