blog bits

  • Telligenti Adonis Bitar with a Golden Nugget on how to increase the number of items displayed on the Control Panel Grid.  "In my user profile under the Site Options tab, there's a drop down to set the number of records returned in the grid - 50 it is!"  It's okay if you didn't know about it.  Jayson Knight didn't know it was there either.  (Umm, or me.)
  • Lots of chatter about Microsoft's Athens-renamed-Microsoft.Community community platform announced by MS Dev Lead Doug Seven.  Microsoft.Community is a community platform MS is building which for the time being is not planned to be a packaged product, but rather a service available initially to MS and select partners.  Telligent's Xander Sherry has been working with the product's 30-person development team.
  • Cool CS Site of the Day: UK-MKIVS.NET.  There's an interesting thread going on around Classifieds support in CS and how Tabs and David Rhodes are using Forums to serve up classifieds at UK-MKIVS.NET.  The site has other interesting functions like a shop service with PayPal integration.  You'll need to register to check out the classifieds. The site uses a password-by-email system, and it worked great!  You may want to check out the registration functionality even if you're not interested in Classifieds.  It's a registration option built into CS, of course, but it's cool to see it in action.  Well, I think so, anyway!
