- For a good time, er, project, call the number listed on this CS Forums post title. Weird post...
- I've been on a siteUrls_override.config kick lately and discovered this old post from Wyatt with an efficient way to add a url in the SiteUrls.config Navigation area.
- Ben shows us how to expand all of the folders in the CS Treeview control on pageLoad() in the CS2007 leanandgreen File Gallery theme. The CS2007 default gallery theme doesn't use the same Component Art control, but it can be swapped out easily enough, especially if you're seeking full tree expansion. And who isn't!
- All <clear />! The trick to adding a custom provider in the cs.config.
- Funny how many folks lamented this CS2007 bug being fixed in CS2007.1. Guess what it was... You got it, mate. The inclusion of comments on the home page aggregate IndexPostList, which was a bug, of course, yet people liked seeing the comments. I wish people liked my bugs that much.
- Daniel Rae is looking to hire a CS programmer for some lightweight development work. Still, Daniel is from Scotland so maybe there's an opportunity to work onsite.
- Ken gives us some insight into CS2008 file storage system changes. From Ken, "The attachment system was completely overhauled into a single repository (instead of forums/blogs/galleries all being separate), no one-file-per-post limit, etc. The blog file storage is migrated into this as well. As it is now though, there is nothing for enforcing advanced permissions on files uploaded to the blogs through it, however now the foundation is there so that someone could develop one."
- 4-Road's Sean Winstead takes us home on an IP Banning bug, which solved the mystery of why my IP banning was not working. As I said in the thread, I thought IP banning wasn't working correctly but I didn't do my homework like my pal Sean did to confirm it.
- Jose gives us a great list of what's coming in CS2008.
- I know this info is deep in the CS Bits archives, but it's worthy of a repost none-the-less. Ken gives us the SQL to clear attachment file data from the cs_postattachments.Content field.
- Hotel96 says that Snitz is releasing a .NET version of their forums application soon. If his username was Hotel69 I'd give him more credibility, but as it is we'll have to wait and see.
- Ben on how to display the first item of a control list differently than the remaining items.
- This remains the best way to have two sets of forums, duplicate the <location forums /> area in the siteUrls.config and copying the files. A bit more typing is involved, but this will get you started.
- As Wyatt says with his link, "The above link is a post describing how to enable forums at the root of your site." 'Nuff said.
