- Bill Bosacker provided a fix to properly display forum read and unread posts several months back and apparently has been working with Jose Lema to get the fix included in the latest CS2007 build. CommunityServer.org was freshened-up with the latest CS2007 bits earlier today, by the way, so we'll no doubt find out from Bill if it's now functioning as it's supposed to. There aren't many guys out there who are bigger CS Forums Gurus than BillB.
- I thought this guy was drafted into the Iranian Royal Guard or something, but he keeps on cranking out new CS Developer Guides! Here our friend Keyvan Nayyeri writes about the Gallery and Galleries classes.
- Telligent Chief Technology Officer Jason Alexander blogs about licensing restrictions. "At Telligent, we take a much more laid back approach. Yeah, we have licensing restrictions, but at the end of the day we won't cripple your site or any features because of licensing issues. In fact, we will simply pop up information messages on your community footer and in your control panel that reminds you that you're not in compliance." The post's title is "How Licensing Restrictions can Kill a Product."
- Dan Hounshell lists the side projects of other Telligenti.
- Speaking of Licensing Restrictions, today I needed to pull the new Community Server 2007 License Guide for a client of mine and had some trouble finding it. You'll find the latest Community Server 2007 Licensing Guide in the White Papers folder of cs.org Downloads. (The folder contains 2 listings of the License Guide, but they both appear to be the same. Probably a CS2007 bug.) While you're there, you might want to check out some of the useful PDFs in introducing other people to Community Server. Communities of Practice, Community Server Evaluation Guide, and a favorite of mine, Solving the Challenge of Email Discussions.
- Here's a new Community Server blog with a different and quite pretty theme.
