If you saw a post titled "DBVT.COM Now Proudly Serving CS2007.1" in your RSS feeds and clicked through to my site only to encounter a login page, I'm sorry about that. That post doesn't exist anymore, thus the "Take Two" and an explanation.
It's pretty late and I had a long night, so I'm not going to go into too many details. Let's just say that the reason the original post no longer exists is because my upgrade to CS2007.1 required a full database and site roll-back to CS2007, followed by a complete re-upgrade, on both my development and production sites. Considering the extent I've customized Community Server on DBVT.COM that's not an insignificant endeavor.
I'm waiting on confirmation, but it seems that the CS2007.1 SDK version I downloaded was build 3.1.20910.1126 rather than 3.1.20917.1142 and that neither the CS2007.1 Web Install version nor the CS2007.1 SDK SqlScripts upgrade folder contained an essential SQL Update script from CS2007 to CS2007.1. I did eventually find both the latest source files and a SQL Update script in the Community Server 2007.1 Update Package download and was able to press on until I was finally at a place to delete app_offline.htm.
A huge thanks to The Wizard and to Alex C. who, on a Saturday night, confirmed by commenting on my original post that I was indeed not using the latest build of CS2007.1 and that I was missing a SQL update script. Apologies to you guys and to others whose comments got caught up in the database roll-back and were lost.
Upgrades are ugly, that's a fact of life, and as a developer I know that stuff happens. We fix it and do our best tomorrow. So that aside, if my database isn't totally hosed and my site continues to hum along as it has for the last hour, I can't wait to dig into the CS2007.1 source and see what the best developers on the planet have created in the latest and greatest version of Community Server. I'll let you know what I find.
