Found this on Boing Boing tonight. A complete collection of every Wired magazine ever printed is on sale at eBay. Current bid: $790.
Guess who else has the complete collection of Wired magazine? Whose your daddy???? That's right. I do. The one with the Sonic Hedgehog on the cover. I got that. Steve Jobs. I got that. The White Issue with the "Ten Things that Scare us Shitless List." I got that.
I had to fill in some of the collection over the years, but I've subscribed since 1994 when a young college intern in my employ with long red hair and flip flops named Will turned me onto it. For years I would read every word in it. For a span there when I was serving my mandatory session in Dilbertville, I didn't even take the magazine out of the wrapper. Just threw it on the stack. Why torment myself? But I knew it always meant something special to me and was a part of how I viewed the world and hope to continue to view it in the future.
And yeah, I've been taking it out of the wrapper for a while now and reading it through. Life is good.
