It means you’re going to have to put on some pants, pops! Did I tell you that my Tarheels won the Final Four?  Wanna make sure I mentioned it.  Hey, forget that (for 30 seconds anyway) and watch the greatest commercial of the tournament, Guitar Hero Metallica with Coach K, Roy Williams, Rick Paterno and Bobby Knight.  Coach K put me in hysterics, with Roy a close second.  Of course, I’m an ACC Man and am a fan of both. Paterno and Knight are also hilarious.

You had me at Flut. Another video for you. I bought into Flutter hook, line and sinkr. “Sometimes when I’m reading a Twit, by the end of it it would become old and irrelevant.” Brilliant.

Is there a Twtvite for old people? I discovered twtvite this week, a site that manages the scheduling of tweetups. I don’t attend #BTV tweetups primarily because I don’t want to be seen as the token old guy among local tweeters who are predominantly in their 20’s and 30’s, but twtvite is still scary cool, even for old people.

Ted Dziuba is FollowTuesday. It’s always big news when Everyman adds a new blog to his OPML.  The most recent addition was Cake Wrecks, added on March 3rd.  While not as interesting as Cake Wrecks, you gotta love how Ted writes in Diggbar is a Howl of Desperation. “As a conoisseur of fail, I thought the DiggBar is worth an examination DiggBar is a URL shortening service from Digg, the internet's largest community of whiners, armchair political activists, inconsolable Book-of-Steve-Jobs bible beaters, and automatic voting bots.”  Be sure to check out the wacky image accompanying the post.

Google in the middle.  Now THAT’S scary.  I think Nicholas Carr has it right.  Google wields an incredible amount of power being the middleman parsing out traffic and page views.

The Nathanielatte. I shared DMs this week with Burlington Tweeter Nathan Hartswick about his self-named latte recipe. I love this recipe for two reasons, 1) it uses my favorite coffee, Vermont Coffee Company dark roast beans, and 2) it’s got lots of pictures!  It inspires me to consider posting my Red Beet Eggs recipe.  I need to check with my Host Provider to make sure I can handle the resulting traffic first.

Godin.04.14.09 From More hallway! “If the hallway conversations at a convention are worth more than the sessions, why not have more and better hallways?” From How to Make Money with SEO, owning a keyword rather than try to be top dog in 14 million matches. Type “type.”  No, no!  Type, ”sueetie!”  And from Imminent, “If you try to market and spend on every element of your story, you'll be merely average. If, on the other hand, you can focus on which signals represent an imminent success, the leverage kicks in.”

World Stage Stuff.  Alarming video on possible global warming effects now plaguing Australia.  And here’s an alarming article aptly titled The dark side of Dubai.  Foreign workers landing in airports with their passports confiscated and other tales of atrocity in this “Santa Claus State.”  One of those articles when you ask, “If things are as bad as the reporter says, how did he write this article and get out of the country without having his testicles clipped?”

And you thought your Chinese-made drywall was safe. Another tale of an amazingly defective Chinese product fail.  Being on guard for bad baby formula is one thing, but being paranoid about drywall is something completely different.  Apparently this stuff dominated the market in new U.S. home construction between 2004 and 2008 and in hot, humid areas like the southeast, the chemicals in the walls are corroding copper pipes, blackening jewelry and silverware, and making people (and children) sick.  Yet another psychological benefit of living in a house built during the Reagan Era.

Enough of the downer talk, it’s time for…ZUNE NEWS!!! Is ZUNE HD Touch coming?  Microsoft shows once again how they can beat Apple at their own game in consumer electronics with a touch Zune in High Definition! …EASY, Big Fella. I was JOKING!  This could be interesting though. The official ZuneHD site?  And what about that Zune Phone all the kids are talking about?  Wow!  Okay, maybe not ALL of the kids. This nutty Gizmodo report claims that 100% of teens want an iPod, 0% any other player.

A few tips on socialization from Everyman. I’m signing off tonight with a few tips on improving your socialization skills. “Specify that your drive-through order is 'TO-GO.'” “Finish all your sentences with the words 'in accordance with prophesy.'” And “Ask people what gender they are.”  I’ll have to remember those pearls when mustering up my inner Captain Courageous on my next twtvite.
