I'm a regular citizen again

Friday was my last day with Telligent.  I notified the Community Server Team a couple of weeks ago that I decided my last day would be when CS2007 goes RTM, and that day is here.

I last checked-in with you on March 10th in "Telligent and Me," and everything I said there still pretty much applies.  I hated to no longer be working with those best-of-breed Telligent developers and I didn't want to stop doing the two hours a day in Gold Forums Support, but there are only so many hours in a day to work with Community Server source code.  It was time to go.

In leaving Telligent I keep thinking of that scene in Blade Runner, when Deckard is faced with the decision of no longer being a cop.

Bryant: I need ya, Deck. This is a bad one, the worst yet. I need the old blade runner, I need your magic.
Deckard: [getting up to leave] I was quit when I come in here, Bryant, I'm twice as quit now.
Bryant: Stop right where you are! You know the score, pal. You're not cop, you're little people!

Okay, so maybe that scene doesn't exactly apply, but I am a regular citizen again, and am looking forward what the future holds as a full-time Independent Consultant.  I'll keep you posted.

I'm not sure should I call this good or bad news but I'm sure you've made the best decision.  You had very good days at Telligent.

Before joining to Telligent you were a great community member and hopefully you'll be after this so we won't miss your great thoughts on community.

I hope that you can follow things with a better job and get success there.

Thanks, Lieutenant, as they say, "for everything."  Hey, I loved your Windows RSS MSDN article.  Congratulations!

That's me, Neils.  So many follow-up Blade Runner quotes to choose from.  Here's one, from Tyrell about the Tyrell Corp: "More human than human" is our motto.

Or... "You'd better get it up, or I'm gonna have to kill you! "

I know it, Mark.  Maybe starting this Blade Runner quote fest wasn't such a great idea.  There are too many of them!

Tyrell: Is this to be an empathy test? Capillary dilation of the so-called blush response? Fluctuation of the pupil. Involuntary dilation of the iris...
Deckard: We call it Voight-Kampff for short.

Dave,

I can see I've been out of touch with the community lately. This is sad news indeed for us all. Good for you though, Dave! I can't tell you how much i've learned from reading your articles, blogs and forum responses.

Take care, my friend, and best of luck!

Steve

P.S. I finally listened to some Queensryche to satisfy my curiousity and see what the hubbub was about. Definately not my cup 'o tea Smile

Cheeseflavor,  Thanks for your good wishes.  Sorry about the Queensryche experience.  Maybe you should try Seether first, then ease into The Ryche. Smile  Thanks for mentioning my articles and so forth.  Being on one's own makes it easy to be overwhelmed and not have enough time to post and write just for the pure satisfaction of sharing.  I'll try to keep up the pace.  Best to you and your nutty biker friends!

Hi Dave, Good Luck !

Haven't been here in a while. Looks like you are still running consistently and increasing the miles...

Hey, Haathi!  It's been a long time.  Thanks for stopping by!  Yeap, still running.  It's the glue that keeps most everything else together.  Hope you're doing good out there in San Fran.  Hope to talk to you again soon.
