Introducing new Sueetie Column: Feature Rich

I started a new column in the Sueetie Wiki titled "Feature Rich: The Applications that Comprise Sueetie."  I've been wanting to spend more time providing information about the great apps that comprise Sueetie from the beginning.  Today by happenstance I was able to do some things in Sueetie that inspired me to get Feature Rich off the ground.

The situation was that several Sueetie developers I've had the good fortune to be in communication with have been working on various Sueetie sites and needed an advanced source code drop.  The Sueetie Framework Codebase is close to being stable enough for true collaborative development from the CodePlex SVN source control server, but a few important structural changes are in the works and won't be on CodePlex for a few weeks.

I needed to distribute the source .ZIP to a group of Sueetie developers in a secure location with as little administrative overhead as possible.  Hey, call me crazy, but I thought, why not use Sueetie!  So I created a new ASPNET Membership Role in Sueetie Administration and a secure media gallery to distribute the source.  The discussion that followed made it immediately apparent that we needed a private Sueetie Forum as well.  What fun!  And a perfect time to start Feature Rich by documenting the steps to create the secure gallery album and private forum.

I didn't give the name of the group much thought, but the name "Sueetie Insiders" came to mind so I went with it.  While I was tweeting today's activities I was tweeted for more information on how to become a "Sueetie Insider."  Funny.  I wasn't trying to imply the formation of some exclusive club.  Sorry about that.  Here's the deal.  For now, a Sueetie Insider is actively working on Sueetie projects and needs early drops of the source code from a restricted media gallery, with access to a private forum to talk about it. The "Sueetie Insider" concept is pretty cool though, so we'll see where it goes.

Next up tonight are reposts of the day's first Feature Rich columns on creating a secure gallery album in Gallery Server Pro and a private folder in YetAnotherForum.NET.

It's fantastic to see your trademark quick tips back - it was your CSNuglets posts that originally brought me to your blog.  They were fairly short, but not short enough to lack any detail, and plenty of screenshots backing up what you said.

Keep up the good work!

Wow, it's wonderful to hear from you, Afscrome!  Yeah, quick tips is my speciality. Smile  When sueetie.org launched I had two blogs, the second being "Sueets," which was intended for just quick tips and news about Sueetie and its apps.  I could never integrate it into the flow, so I yanked it.

I've settled into focusing on the Sueetie Wiki documentation, then reposting here, essentially.  Two birds...

Yeah, short is always best.  Mostly pictures with few words.  The perfect format.

Really good to hear from you.
