I started out blogging at weblogs.asp.net and even after having gone solo, its still my favorite .NET-focused community feed. I always feel I have a good summary on what's going on out there when I catch up with the backlog of unread posts.
900-some items to check out since September 1. Highlights that were particular to my interests were:
- Sharepoint Services 2003 and .NET 1.1 Framework Service Packs now available, thanks to at least 6 bloggers. (Another good thing about weblogs.asp.net is that its hard to miss what's new with so much repetition.)
- Several references like this one from Roy to O/RMapping and Paul Wilson's WilsonORMapper in particular. I'm a CodeSmith Business Object generating kind of guy myself, but the WilsonORMapper is on the brain.
- Speaking of Paul Wilson, I very much enjoy his real world project narratives, like this one.
- The Windows SharePoint Services Administrator's Guide has been updated. Definitely will take a look at that. Thanks to a Roberdan post.
- Excellent Forbes article comparing project costs between Microsoft and Linux. Another of those topics mentioned by 6 bloggers that you couldn't miss.
- Robert McLaws loves the new MSN Music Store, so I checked it out. Very cool. Though I'll stick with Winamp and my MP3 streams, thanks.
- Ken Cox announces what looks like an excellent article on building Sharepoint web parts with NET 1.1 for Visual Studio Magazine.
- PC Magazine article on best PocketPC apps, thanks to Nauman Leghari. Discovered some cool games I didn't know were available, particularly T-Plus Bridge. My wife and I played bridge in Pittsburgh and I would love to get back into it some (even though I wasn't very good.)
