Michele Leroux Bustamante has made me whole again

Michele Leroux Bustamante spoke at the VTDotNet User's Group on Monday.  Her topic was Extending ASP.NET with HTTP Modules, Handlers and SOAP Extensions.

Why do I say she has made me whole again?  Well, I hate to admit this, but I've always been in a bit of a funk ever since Susan Warren went private.  I saw Susan in TechEd Atlanta 2001 demonstrating IBuySpy in .NET Beta 2 and she completely knocked my socks off.  There's something about a .NET Guru Chick of Distinction that makes an indelible impression on me.  But now Michele filled that .NET GCD empty space that Susan Warren left, and I am whole again.

Gawl-damm, that Michele is a fantastic presenter!  She covered HTTP Modules, HTTP Handlers, and SOAP Extensions thoroughly.  And as so often happens in the excellent VTDotNet meetings for which our local GCD Julie Lerman is solely responsible, I got exactly the information I needed to take the next step in the current work I'm doing.  Any HTTP Module and HTTP Handler action in .Text and nGallery, for instance?  Uhhh, yeah.

It was funny.  Three or four of us in the back row were just looking at each other and watching Michele with our mouths hanging open.  And no, if you've ever seen Michele, our mouths were not hanging open for the reason you might think.  They were hanging open because she was so LIGHTENING FAST on a keyboard.  Wow.  We LOVED it!

Anyway, I've gone goofy here.  I didn't mean to detract from the astounding job Michele did, the wealth of information that she shared with us (I'm definitely downloading her demo code from dasblonde.net!) or lessen my sincere appreciation for her coming to Vermont all the way from San Diego to dazzle us Vermont nerds.

Sounds great!  I am really looking forward to Thursday night's talk on WSE 2.0 Security.
