I
complained a while back about the lack of popular eBooks out there to purchase and read on my PocketPC. Things haven't gotten a whole lot better, but I did discover something very cool to keep my PocketPC library full until mainline publishers get their heads out of their butts and start publishing for digital distribution: The
Read in Microsoft Reader add-in for MS Word. This allows me to convert Word documents to MS Reader format so I can enjoy the rich formatting and navigational features of Microsoft Reader. (I'm a big Microsoft Reader fan, you see...)
Let's look at a juicy example. How about the
Ubiquity interview with Michael Dertouzos, director of MIT's Computer Science Lab. Grab that page (content only) and get it into Word, then use the RMR menu option shown below (which is also available from the toolbar) and you end up with a sweet MS Reader document ready for that night's bedtime reading session. Hh? Hh? Pretty great, eh?
The RMR Add-in has other features like table of contents support and adding your own library thumbnail and cover images.
