I picked up the handle of Mr. Digital in the early 90's. I was an Assistant Professor at the time, building Gopher and WAIS servers (then Mosaic web servers) and other fun stuff in a university library. The theme of the day was migrating paper or analog-based information systems to a digital format for access from this wonderous emerging network, and since I was a major advocate, I became Mr. Digital.
So in 1995 when I started my own business I named it Mr. Digital and Associates and registered the domain mrdigital.com. While I may still own the domain, I finally closed the doors on the web site yesterday, which was housed on a BSD server for the last 10 years with Pair Networks--a great provider in Pittsburgh but one who has never considered moving to Windows Hosting.
We all tire of our handles, I suppose. I am completely happy now as a teleworking nerd from Vermont who no one knows, few email, and even fewer ever call. Yeap, a career goal realized!

Goodbye, Mr. Digital.
