My CC4 Smart Client Presentation is on the docket

Thom "The Best Darn Developer Evangelist In The Whole Wide World" Robbins posted my Smart Client presentation on the Code Camp 4 schedule.

IssueVision in a .NET 2.0 World: Using IV to Jumpstart Building .NET 2.0 Smart Client Applications.

IssueVision is a complete Smart Client application with full source available in both VB.NET and C# from Vertigo Software. It was created for DevDays 2004 to demonstrate best practices in building Smart Client applications in .NET 1.1. In this session we’ll discover after looking at both IssueVision and a.NET 2.0 Smart Client app based on IV that we can use many of the best practices found in IssueVision to jumpstart building real world .NET 2.0 Smart Client applications while enjoying the new productivity and framework enhancements of .NET 2.0.

I found IssueVision to be a very instructive application and have used several IssueVision elements and best practices in my own .NET 2.0 Smart Client development.  Using IssueVision as a model to get started in .NET Smart Client development can provide a big productivity boost in ways I'll be demonstrating in the presentation.  We'll load IssueVision and an application based on IssueVision side-by-side in Visual Studio .NET 2.0 to look at specific elements, both in terms of those we want to keep and those we will want to replace with new and improved .NET 2.0 features.

I will be blogging the presentation outline and the details as they take shape.

Do you know of anyone that has the source code for running IssueVision in a .net 2.0 environment?

Randy, thanks for your question.  Yeah, me...and anyone with the IV source.  It compiles under 2.0 with only a few warnings and those are easily addressable.  I do remember a few compile warnings, but I know it wasn't a problem.
