I was able to listen to Julie Lerman's DotNetRocks show this weekend and enjoyed hearing her yuck it up with Rory and Carl.
At one point Carl said something to the effect, “One thing that I am really impressed about you Julie is that, to me, you are the Quintessential Networker.” And he went on to describe how Julie is so great at getting people together and knowing who in the .NET biz can help you in any particular esoteric area of technology you happen to find yourself. I have personally experienced exactly what Carl described in Julie getting me connected with other people in the industry. She is such a valuable .NET community resource for that quality alone!
As for the “Naked Monkeys” comment, it was a line Julie used to describe a former magazine employ in New York City many years back (she's pretty old, you know.) And it was one of those lines that comes out of JL's mouth from time-to-time that cracks me up. It didn't stop the show, but was one of those moments for those of us who know Lerman to appreciate how bent she is.
More objectively, I thought Julie had a very flowing conversational presence which was enjoyable and entertaining. |
