Pass me some a that Kettle Corn, Ricco. Today's episode of The Proprietary Podcaster is starting!
The show opens with blogs exchanging flaming dialog the equivalent of an alt.tv.the-west-wing thread started by a Republican. Both serve no purpose and bring no resolution. The only possible way to generate any consensus would be through real time discussion, something like a podcast.
Then in comments to Mitch's In Which I Engage Dave, Rob Greenlee proposes a podcast with the principals: Mitch, Dave, Doc (plus Don Katz, who Mitch understandably requests in another comment to "balance the ticket.") But by the end of the day too many pant legs are too soggy from all of that pissing, so a podcast with the principals is out of the question. It was obviously a premature articulation anyway, as Greenlee later suggests on his blog that "Podcasters not bloggers" discuss the direction that Audible is taking the industry. Audible is taking the industry? So let me understand as the art flows over me like a late-night gangster movie, Mitch Ratcliffe is a WebTalk co-host with Rob Greenlee, who proposes a hard-hitting podcast exclusively with other commercial-oriented podcasters, and if you want to learn more about Audible, by-the-way, you can queue up a Don Katz ITConversations interview...surprise, interviewed by Rob Greenlee for WebTalk.
More commercials. The progress bar on the DVR confirms that the only thing left is next week's previews. Doesn't matter. We won't be watching it anyway. This show sucks.
