Peanut Butter Frosting

This is one of my staple Pennsylvania Dutch recipes that I'm posting to easily reference it in the future. I'm planning to make a chocolate cake tonight and I had to look it up on one of my office PCs. Thank God I put it in a safe place.

You may think, "Why Peanut Butter and not Chocolate Frosting?" Chocolate Frosting is good, sure, but it's a Pennsylvania Dutch thing. In fact, back in my South-Central Pennsylvania home town, this cake is a staple at local farmers markets and can even be found in grocery stores.

Enough chit-chat. I want to make my cake.

1/2 c. Smooth Peanut Butter
1 lb. Confectioner's Sugar
8 Tbsp. Milk
1 tsp. Vanilla
1/4 c. Shortening

Beat all ingredients together until smooth. Add more milk if needed.  See ya.
