I'm trying to get back into a daily routine of spending quality time on my office Nordic Track ski exerciser while reading a good programming book. Its good for the body and the inner nerd as well. The Nordic Track is an excellent way to get a good sweat going while still feeling completely selfish because you're taking time to read. Sidebar: I bought my Nordic Track Achiever 10 years ago and it looks as nice and works as well as the day I bought it. Highly recommended.
So I've been reading Petzold's Programming Windows with C#. It's been around for awhile, and while reading it I was reminded of another classic I have on my shelves: On Writing Well by William Zinsser. Like Zinsser's work, Programming Windows with C# discusses facets of .NET that we use everyday in such a way to really understand them and Program Well.
I'm less than 100 pages into the book, and I have a tendency to become disenchanted with a book after a few hundred pages, but Petzold's work definitely has legs.
So when you buy at Nordic Track for your office, don't forget to pick up Programming Windows with C#!
