I'm having trouble shaking the movie AutoFocus, starring Greg Kinnear and Willem Dafoe, which I watched last night on DVR. Very good but very disturbing. I wanted to see the film in its entirety, but found myself >>> fast forwarding from scene to scene once I got the gist of them. (Another sweet feature of DVR.) The movie is based on the book “AutoFocus: The Murder of Bob Crane,” a bio on Robert Crane's life (Colonel Hogan of Hogan's Heroes), a closet (or rather, not so closet) sex fiend who wanted to be a nice guy, with fame and personal weakness bringing him to ruin.
Most folks will probably dismiss this post as pure noise. Understandable if so. Sorry. I watch so few movies, however, that when I do watch one its an event. This was one of those few films that definitely made an impression, so it was sponge-worthy, uh, I meant post-worthy.
