I was introduced to Service Packs in 1997, I think, while pulling a stint as the Intranet Admin in a large Dilbertville firm in downtown Pittsburgh. I couldn't wait for new service packs, as those were the days Microsoft introduced major IIS and web-related features in its Windows NT Service Packs, and it was exciting to double-click on setup.exe and see what was new and cool.
These days I'm just happy when my Microsoft environment is stable and I don't have to think about it. Then a Service Pack comes along and its “oh shit, time to double-click on setup.exe.”

6.0.2.6361 is the version number of the virtual server in Windows SharePoint Services Service Pack 1 (SP1).
If the version number is 6.0.2.5530, the virtual server is not updated correctly. Go to step 4.
