Sueetie .NET 4.0 Upgrade Pack Available. Sueetie v3.0 Coming Soon.

The Sueetie Upgrade supporting .NET 4.0 is now available in the Sueetie Marketplace.  Sueetie v2.4 users can configure their sites in IIS for 4.0, then drag-and-drop the upgrade pack onto their sites to upgrade to .NET 4.0.  Real simple. Here’s the upgrade guide if you don’t believe me.

The response to Sueetie supporting .NET 4.0 has been pretty great, so I decided to change the plan.  I had originally referred to the upgrade as Sueetie v2.5. It is now the Sueetie .NET 4.0 Upgrade Pack. And rather than upgrading to Sueetie v2.5 as an incremental update, the upgraded site will be versioned as Sueetie 3.0.

Why a major release designation?  Because a Full Sueetie Version 3.0 Release for both Gummy Bear and Atomo based on the version formerly known as v2.5 is coming very soon.  Providing a Full Sueetie Release will enable users to create a fresh .NET 4.0 Gummy Bear Website or Atomo Visual Studio Solution without the pain of v2.x upgrades and reconfiguring an existing site for .NET 4.0.

A .NET 4.0-based Sueetie v3.0 provides a clear break from the .NET 2.0 releases that preceded it. And besides, we upgraded each of the Sueetie apps to their newest versions, added some cool features like multiple galleries, wiki page discussion and namespace integration, and fixed a bunch of stuff, so yeah, I’m cool with Version 3.0.  I think Sueetie Users will be, too.

To recap today’s big news, the .NET 4.0 Upgrade is now available in the Sueetie Marketplace for Sueetie 2.4 users and it will upgrade them to Sueetie v3.0.  There will be a Full Sueetie Version 3.0 coming with the very latest versions of BlogEngine.NET, YetAnotherForum.NET, ScrewTurn Wiki and Gallery Server Pro very soon.  Same one-click install, same low price.
