Sueetie.com now comes in Peppermint!

Sueetie.com has a brand new look. The new Peppermint Theme is now online. I liked the Licorice Theme a lot, but it was on the dark side as far as candy themes go and I needed a change. Below are the Licorice and Peppermint Theme Home Pages side-by-side.

New Peppermint Sueetie Home Page

With the new theme I took the opportunity to add a Call to Action button on the home page to direct visitors to the Gummy Bear download page. I also substantially revised the home page copy to better describe Sueetie to first-time visitors.

There’s a lot of translucence happening in the Peppermint Theme, with one layer peeking through another.  Gradient affects are prominent throughout. You may also notice that the Sueetie Logo has been updated with a more slimmed down, low-calorie font.

Below is a typical site page, here showing the YetAnotherForum.NET forum home page. Lighter colored page elements are used for a cleaner look.  The main navigation menu bar slopes down under the header logo to make it a bit more interesting than a solid red band that extends across the page. I removed all of the page sidebars with exception of the blog sidebar to give the content a bit more room to breathe.

New Peppermint Sueetie Forum Page

I started out creating a theme for Sueetie which I codenamed Mint Julep, inspired not by the drink but by the chewy taffy candy that was big in the 60’s. There wasn’t a whole lot of visual appeal in a square chunk of taffy, however, so early in development cycle the theme took on a peppermint flair and Theme Peppermint was born.

Please stop by and eyeball a few pages.

Thanks, K-Man from TEXAS!  I can't seem to shake my conservative styling roots, but Peppermint is a step toward a more modern look.  Great to hear from you.
