Super SubSonic DAL Builder

Scott Watermasysk likes SubSonic.  One thing I've learned over the years is when ScottW likes something it's worth my while to check it out.  So today I downloaded SubSonic and played with it a while.  I also watched the Flash video of SubSonic's author Rob Conery demonstrating the features of SubSonic.

SubSonic is a Data Access Layer building tool which requires only dropping a .DLL in the project \bin directory and pointing that .DLL to the datasource in the web.config.  Instant DAL, with support for Stored Procedures, table schemas, Collections, and Scaffolding, a similar function to the generated Admin functionality built into .netTiers.

I'm wearing a .netTiers ring on my finger at the moment though.  We've got plans for client projects together, so I don't plan on using SubSonic in the near future.  Still, SubSonic is a seriously impressive productivity tool, especially if you want to put a site online in a hurry.  Rob's webcast is 20 minutes well spent, whether you plan on using SubSonic or not.

Jon Galloway provides an good summary of SubSonic and gives you a quick overview of what it does.  Below is a screenshot from the video.

I'd say that matters, Scott.  Sweet!  Thanks for showing me something new.
