It has become time for me to investigate the brave new world of Technorati, Del.icio.us, Social Bookmarking and tagging. I have begun the quest to understand this stuff and add it to my rockin' blog world.
There are many cyberpals out there who inspire me to implement new technologies--you know who you are--but there are two particular nerds to whom I have no resistance, and where they go, I follow: Tim "The Hustler" Haines and The Lermanizer. I noticed recently that The Hustler has started implementing Technorati Tags and a link to add his posts to your Del.icio.us bookmarks. The deed was done. I had to move on this Technorati, Delicious thing. Damn.
I looked at both Delicious and Technorati before, but I never understood what the heck I was looking at and I SURE didn't know how to get started. Tags, bookmarking...wha'??? Simply put from a simple mind, Delicious is a social bookmarking service, where you can share your bookmarks with other people. I just started creating bookmarks (about delicious and technorati :-) as you'll see on my delicious bookmark page. Okay, now Technorati, which is more about extended categorization of your blog and your content. We profile our blogs at Technorati with specific tags (my Technorati Profile) and can tag individual posts, which you'll see at the bottom of this post, which are added to the tag search pool for that topic throughout the blogosphere.
So it's done. You'll be hearing more from me on these topics, but I thought I'd officially announce my foray into the Technorati, Del.icio.us, Social Bookmarking and tagging universe.
Here's where you say, "Thanks for the warning!"
