Today's Digital History Class Topic: The Knowledge Navigator

Apple's prophetic Knowledge Navigator video filmed in 1987 is one of those bits of digital history for those of us who experienced it "back when" assume that everyone else did, too.  I know that's not the case.  If you haven't yet seen it, you should check it out at its DigiBarn Computer Museum home.  Personally I hear people make reference to it quite often.  Still.  After tracking it down I watched it again and it remains a prescient piece of film.

The first time I saw it was on a large Sony Trinitron in a University library teleconference room in 1992.  A group of us information science academic types were having a Think Day to discuss our Visual Information-based future.  The Knowledge Navigator was one of the highlights of the show.

Now when you Young Buckaroos hear someone mention the Knowledge Navigator, you'll know what they're talking about.

There will be a short quiz on Monday.
