TypeKey Authentication Application Artistry. Wink! Wink!

I encountered the TypeKey Authentication Service recently when wanting to post a comment on the Hacking Netflix blog.  It's a service from Six Apart, and in theory, a valid one, allowing you to use the same authentication for multiple blogs who subscribe to the service.

I hadn't remembered whether I had registered with TypeKey before or not.  Thinking I had, I clicked "Forgot your password?", entered my email address and clicked the submit button.  Then I waited and waited.  Nothing.  The screen told me it sent my password to daveburke@dbvt.com.  Yeap, that's me!

I tried again and still nothing, then thought, "screw it," slapped the keys, and clicked submit.  Just as I thought.  No logic behind the scenes at all!  Type anything and it throws up the same message (see "sent to fdsa" below.)

Six Apart...THAT IS SOOO LAME!
