VS2005 Documentation

I assumed MSDN was included in the VS2005 Beta 2.0, but it isn't.  That's certainly understandable and not a problem.  So I went to the Visual Studio 2005 Documentation on MSDN and wanted to check out one of the Windows Forms walkthroughs.  The retrieved results were:

Walkthrough: Connecting to Data with the Datasource UITypeEditor

Heh.  Reminds me of .NET 1.0 Beta 2.0 four years ago.  Looking forward to the final release with full documentation, since one of my VS2005 resolutions is to take greater advantage of the excellent MSDN documentation in VS.NET.

I took a good look at the "Visual Studio Developer News" items on Thom's Startup Page the other night at VTDotNet, since both of the machines I'm running Beta 2.0 on are not connected to the Net.  After doing a bit of poking around I found that they're pointed to the MSDN Visual Studio 2005 Feed at http://msdn.microsoft.com/vs2005/rss.xml.  Good stuff.

Dave- the documentation was definitely part of my install. I downloaded the VSTS bits. It was an additional step after installing VS2005, it asked me if I wanted to instlal the msdn stuff. That has been the same in almost every set of bits I have installed with whidbey. You might want to check your install disks.

Julie, thanks.  That answers my question about MSDN help being part of the VSTS package and not the Standard version, which is what I'm using.  Until convinced otherwise, I'm very happy with the Standard version and will make due with online docs until the release.  I'm sure there's little difference between the local and online versions.  Online may be even more comprehensive over time.
