Dave Burke : Freelance .NET Web Developer specializing in Online Communities

.text DevDays

I have a most enviable task of working with ScottW's .094 .Text framework this week and get paid for it.  I'm customizing it a bit to serve as a company project weblog where multiple individuals post to the same blog.  This means the login is not needed, the SQL backend requires updating, and numerous other changes are being made.

Working with ScottW (and contributors') code is a REAL pleasure.  This guy is good!   As I customize elements throughout the various projects which comprise the .text framework, I try to get deeper into ScottW's approach to development in hopes it sticks as I move on to my next task.  Let me be the 837th person at weblogs.asp.net to publicly thank you, Scott, for making this available.

As a sidebar, I wanted to mention that the experience I have working with Scott's code is similar to digging into Jonathan Goodyear's Ezine framework which I think I paypaled for $10 dollars a year-and-a-half ago.  (Its still a great bargain at $25 where it is priced today.)   And like IBuySpy way before that even.

While there are great books out there, they don't compare to loading up a full-blown VS.NET solution like .Text or Ezine or one of the ASP.NET starter kits.  Other good code package recommendations are welcome!
